The estate s crowning achievement occurred in 1978 with the acquisition of a plot in Montrachet, considered the world s finest white wine vineyard. Now managed by Pierre s grandchildren Noël and Jean-Claude since 1984, the domaine encompasses 40 acres producing 24 appellations, primarily around Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet in the southern Côte de Beaune, with their Montrachet remaining one of the world s most acclaimed white wines.
