The balance between grace and tragedy is perfectly achieved, revealing Mozart’s shifting states of mind.
The orchestra never feels heavy, yet it remains ever-present, guiding the way—as beautifully demonstrated by the orchestral prelude to Concerto No. 20, K. 466, one of the finest in the discography.
The Andante of K. 467 is also a benchmark interpretation. One must listen to the heartbeat-like pulse from the lower strings, accompanied by a piano imbued with reverie and nostalgia, achieving a perfect equilibrium. The magnificent Concerto No. 22, K. 482, shines with youthful lightness, while the 23rd showcases the refinement and elegance that are hallmarks of Mozart’s writing.
