Mustafa's first project 'When Smoke Rises' boasts production from renowned names Frank Dukes and Jamie xx, as well as collaborative efforts from kindred spirits Sampha and James Blake. In these artists, Mustafa has found not only seasoned creators, but also those who truly understand and embody his vision. Additionally, the voices of long-time friends and fellow Regent Park residents Rax, Puffy L’z, cityboymoe, and the late Ali and Smoke Dawg are heard on 'When Smoke Rises'. Without them, this project would not have come to fruition. But more importantly, they are the very people this project is dedicated to. "My entire purpose, since I was young, has been centered around protecting and preserving the stories of my community," Mustafa declares. "It's why I started writing poetry.
