Analogue Productions (Atlantic Series) Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Atlantic Records! John Coltrane's watershed 1960 release featuring the iconic title track and 'Naima' One of the most influential jazz albums of all time!

180-gram 45 RPM double LP Mastered directly from the original master tape by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound Pressed at Quality Record Pressings Tip-on old style gatefold double pocket jackets with film lamination by Stoughton Printing Released in 1960, Giant Steps was a watershed album for John Coltrane, solidifying the saxophone legend's reputation as one of the most influential and innovative musicians in jazz history, as well as delivering jazz to an increasingly mainstream audience, while garnering significant critical acclaim.

Although this was John Coltrane's debut for Atlantic, he was concurrently performing and recording with Miles Davis. Within the space of less than three weeks, Coltrane would complete his work with Davis and company on another genre-defining disc, Kind of Blue, before commencing his efforts on this one. Coltrane (tenor sax) is flanked here by essentially two different trios. Recording commenced in early May of 1959 with a pair of sessions that featured Tommy Flanagan (piano) and Art Taylor (drums), as well as Paul Chambers - who was the only bandmember other than Coltrane to have performed on every date.

When recording resumed in December of that year, Wynton Kelly (piano) and Jimmy Cobb (drums) were instated - replicating the alternate non-Bill Evans lineup featured on 'Freddie the Freeloader' on Kind of Blue, sans Miles Davis of course. At the heart of these recordings, however, is the laser-beam focus of Coltrane's tenor solos. All seven pieces issued on the original Giant Steps are Coltrane compositions. He was, in essence, beginning to rewrite the jazz canon with material that would be centered on solos - enabling the solo to become infinitely more compelling. This would culminate in a frenetic performance style using melodic phrasing that noted jazz journalist Ira Gitler accurately dubbed 'sheets of sound.'

The Giant Steps chord progression consists of a distinctive set of chords that create key centers a major third apart. Jazz musicians ever since have used it as a practice piece, it's difficult chord changes presenting a 'kind of ultimate harmonic challenge', and serving as a gateway into modern jazz improvisation. Several pieces on this album went on to become jazz standards, most prominently 'Naima' and 'Giant Steps.' The Penguin Guide to Jazz selected this album as part of it's suggested 'Core Collection' calling it 'Trane's first genuinely iconic record.' In 2003, the album was ranked No. 102 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, 103 in a 2012 revised list, and 232 in a 2020 revised list. Undeniable music perfection deserves definitive sound and top-notch packaging.

This reissue was mastered directly from the original master tape by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound and cut at 45 RPM. Pressed at Quality Record Pressings, and housed in tip-on old style gatefold double pocket jackets with film lamination by Stoughton Printing. Overall, Giant Steps is not only a critical triumph but also a defining moment in John Coltrane's career. It's innovative compositions, masterful performances, and profound influence on jazz make it an essential entry in Coltrane's discography and a timeless masterpiece in the history of the genre.

Perfect for classy evenings or comfortable running around town
Color: Pattern Kah, Size: Medium
I favor wide-leg lounging pants in large sizes for their comfortable fit, which strikes the perfect balance between loose and baggy. These pants exude elegance, making them ideal for both social gatherings and quiet evenings with my spouse. The fabric flows beautifully and keeps me cool and dry. Its breathability is notable, and I appreciate the vibrant color, soft texture, and high quality, particularly during the pleasant late afternoons and early evenings typical of Southern nights.

Love these pants
Color: Apricot, Size: Large
These wide leg palazzo pants are super nice! The material is very lightweight, making them perfect for summer. They’re incredibly flattering, comfortable, and I absolutely love the fit. The drawstring waist and pockets are a great bonus! For reference, I’m 5’10”, 170 lbs, and ordered a Large — they fit perfectly. Highly recommend if you’re looking for stylish, flowy, comfortable summer pants!

Love! New favorite pants!!
Color: Apricot, Size: Medium
I really love these pants! They’re extremely versatile. I wear them to work in professional attire, then come home, throw on a t-shirt, and wear them to lounge for the evening. They’ll even be great over a swimsuit on vacation. Bonus points for having pockets! They have been durable enough for my phone and keys without them dragging the pants down. When I first received them, I was surprised by how thin and somewhat see-through the apricot pants are— to the point that I considered returning them. I’m so glad I didn’t! They are insanely comfortable. Don’t let the reviews about being see-through deter you. Work around it! One day of wear and you’ll see why. I prefer to wear these with shirts that tuck in the front and cover most of my bottom in the back due to how see-through they are in this light color. The comfort is worth it! They are long for someone my height, 5’2”. I wear them with a Sofft sandal that has a thicker sole that adds a little height. This prevents them from touching the ground without me having to pull up on them all day. I can easily and comfortably wear them a little high on the waist to help with the length, as long as I’m wearing the thicker-soled sandal (or a heel). I don’t wear heels, so it’s thicker soled shoes for me! I don’t feel these are going to be the most durable pants and expect to replace them more quickly than other pants- but I do expect to get at least a couple of good years out of them. They are lightweight and cool, perfect for summer and spring. I don’t see myself wearing them to work or anywhere outside during cold winter weather. I read the reviews and ordered a size down. I’m normally a large, size 8-10, and the medium fits wonderfully and is very giving. If I liked a tight pant, I probably could’ve gone with a small. I will absolutely be purchasing them in other colors! With this apricot color you’ll need to wear white or skin-colored seamless underwear. I took one star off for being somewhat see-through. Outside of that, they are easily 5 star pants. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ For the $20-$25 price, get them and thank me later!!

Great quality for the price!
Color: Apricot, Size: Small
Great palazzo pants! I was looking for something to wear in Florida to a graduation but did not want to be too hot. These pants are versatile and very flattering. So comfortable as well and no wrinkles! The length was perfect for me at 5'2" and they wash very well. I purchased slip shorts to wear underneath to avoid the dreaded panty line / crease, etc. and the slip shorts smooth everything out & make you look seamless!

So great, that I own 4 pairs of these Sampeel pants!
Color: Pattern Leopard, Size: Large, Color: Pattern Leopard, Size: Large
I own 4 pairs of these pants because I love them so much! I receive many compliments when I wear them. They are stylish, comfortable, and a great thin material that keeps you cool while looking professional. I am 5" tall and can wear them with heels without needing them to be hemmed (which is unusual for me when ordering pants). They have an elastic waist band with drawstrings so I can wear them while losing weight, they don't wrinkle easily, and they have pockets! Great pants for a great price! I will continue to purchase more throughout the summer.
