Each museum-quality illumination is made with bright archival water resistant inks on velvety smooth lightfast acid free pH neutral 100% α-cellulose German Etching paper by Hahnemühle who’s papers have been prized in European houses of nobility for centuries for their highest levels of craftsmanship and superb durability. 

Only 500 Neroli Hua illuminations max of each of four sizes in either original or inverse will be made from the original 18”x18” colored pencil and silver illumination of the same name. The 16”x16” size will be discontinued after the last ones are sold. ~ Let the blessings exotic aromatics waft over you with this lush design inspired by a Chinese cloud pattern that reminded me of a flower. The word for “flower” in Mandarin is "Hua" and neroli is the fragrant oil made from the sun-kissed flowers of the bitter orange, known for alleviating stress and anxiety and made fashionable by a 17th century Italian princess.  © BKS

Do I love it? Yes. Is it well made? It certainly appears to be. Is the leather thick? Yes, I’d say definitely thick and sturdy. Do I like the color (Bootlegger Brown)? Of course I do, it’s gorgeous. It seems very well made. The corners are secured with black fasteners, which I think are going to better than the buttons in the long run that I’ve seen on others. It’s was this brand, or Hide and Drink for me. I went with these guys because it’s U.S. made, and hopefully American sourced leather. I bought the Large. My concern was that the XL might be too large for my nightstand. I measured it out and everything. However, I was not counting on the length and width to be measured from the end of the pinched corners, so I was a little disappointed about the size of the useable surface area. It’s not a big deal, but I wish that I’d have just spent the extra $5 and got the XL. If I we’re to get another, I definitely go with the XL unless you just want something on the smallish side, but still I suspect that they are larger that what most others are offering. At least these guys give you a choice of options.
