The 27 Fighter Wing was first established on July 28, 1947. The 27 Fighter Wing has been re-designated 5 times. 27 Fighter Escort Wing- Feb. 1 1950, 27 Strategic Fighter Wing- Jan 20 1953, 27 Fighter-Bomber Wing- Jul 1 1957, 27 Tactical Fighter Wing- Jul 1 1958, and finally 27 Fighter Wing on Oct 1 1991. It became the 27th Tactical Fighter Wing on July 1, 1958. The forth designation lasted from July 1, 1958 and lasted until October 1, 1991. When it was re-designated for the final time, the unit went back to its original name as the 27 Fighter Wing.
Looking for patches that can be used to replace lost military patches, remember days gone by, use for Halloween costumes or simply for fun, here they are. Sew-On Embroidered Emblems. Machine washable and can be put on most fabrics.
This patch came to us through a highly reputable collector who was looking to downsize his collection.
