HD 800 S — The audiophile headphones all others are measured against, our HD 800 S doesn’t just raise the ceiling for critical listening—it smashes right through it. Combining the care devoted to a handcrafted instrument and the precision of modern manufacturing, the HD 800 S lets you explore your entire music collection from the inside out.

The Exploration of Sound

The HD 800 S demonstrates over 75 years of audio expertise, redefining the critical listening experience. After launching its predecessor—the HD 800—we accepted a self-imposed challenge to completely disappear from the last link in the audio chain. Our goal was to provide acoustics so immersive that your awareness dissolves into the creator’s perspective. On their own, each component of the HD 800 S is world-class. The signature sound of the HD 800 S is possible not because of any one of them, but through the synergy of all of them. Let’s explore.

It Has a Ring to It

The heart of the HD 800 S and its striking sound is the 56mm Ring Radiator transducer. It leverages the key benefit of a large diaphragm transducer—air displacement—without losing the rigidity that favourably impacts rest and response times. Instead of a single attachment on the outer circumference of the transducer, both outer and inner edges of the “ring” are secured to the drive unit. The voice coil excites the diaphragm, connected to the v-shaped groove found near the centre of the ring. A feat in itself, the voice coil is 40mm and wound in-house to ensure the shape and consistency is held to the highest standard.

Solid as a Rock

The headphones’ vibration-damping chassis and inert headband insert provide complete stability—what you put into the HD 800 S is precisely what you will get out of it. Each transducer is manufactured, tested, and measured to the tightest tolerance to ensure the most dependable performance out of the box. Even the steel mesh found in the baffle is matched and integrated with consistency in mind, as it contributes to ultra-low variance in the management of travelling sound waves. Each HD 800 S includes the frequency response plot unique to those perfectly matched transducers, sparing no resource to help you retrieve the most critical details from every corner of your music collection.

All the World’s a Stage

The HD 800 S features a mesmerizing soundstage that seemingly transports the listener into the recording environment. This is no accident, and is the result of several key features. The drivers are mounted at a precise angle, guiding the sound directly to the listener’s ears at their natural inflection point. Instead of hearing a sound that forms between your ears, you experience a vivid wash of frequencies and sensory-stimulating transients. When finally combined, the vibration-damping chassis, perfectly matched transducer systems, and wide-open construction work in concert to provide the most striking soundstage yet. This orientation rivals or exceeds loudspeaker setups costing exponentially more—especially when room acoustics are factored in. The HD 800 S offers you a personal concert hall on-demand—without waking the neighbours.

Behind the Mask

Using a high-performance transducer with incredible extension is just one element of the HD 800 S and its advanced sound reproduction system. Achieving acoustics that are true to the source also requires management of compounding frequency clusters that produce undesirable masking effects. We integrated a patented frequency absorber—a principle similar to that found in our breakthrough IE 800S—to reduce resonances that hide extraordinary musical details in plain sight. Further, the transducer system is mounted in a vibration damping chassis using aerospace-grade materials. In concert with the previously mentioned headband, the problematic energy peaks of lower frequencies are controlled to unveil the purity your hi-fi setup is capable of.

An Ergonomic Treat

The HD 800 S delivers on long-term wearing comfort too, providing a listening experience as luxurious as it is immersive. Every contact point utilizes ultra-soft microfiber padding, while purpose-built composites reduce weight and unwanted pressure. Each earcup provides dual-axis articulation—as soon as you put them on the HD 800 S will instantly and effortlessly conform to your unique structure. The result is a remarkable listening session that never stands in the way of your passion for hi-fidelity sound reproduction.

It’s All About Connection

We packed your HD 800 S with a versatile set of essential cables, each one impedance-matched with ultra-low capacitance. The ¼-inch / 6.3mm stereo connector offers the audiophile-standard plug for connection to devices such as headphone amplifiers, DACs, and A/V receivers. A balanced, 4.4mm connector opens a pathway to a newer generation of balanced output devices (headphone amplifiers, digital audio players, etc.) that embrace this compact plug’s superior stability over time. An XLR-4 balanced cable is available separately for purchase, offering yet another popular connection to a wide range of audio components. Each cable is 9.8 feet / 3m long to accommodate unencumbered listening on gear deep within your shelves, across your listening chair, or even a tabletop.

Wonderful chair
Color: Dark Black
I bought this office chair as a sewing tool, you might say. I felt that having an office chair on wheels would get me from the sewing machine to the ironing board and then to the cutting board and back to the sewing machine. I was having to get up and down to get around to all these places before and this saves me so much time and effort. I’m 71 so when the box came I was hesitant to try to bust into it and put it together but it went together so easily. It’s very comfortable and the lumbar support feels great on my low back. When I first sat down after the assembly process, the chair cushion tipped down in the front but after contacting the support team I was advised to tighten the tilt tension located under the chair and that fixed me right up! All and all, my chair is the perfect addition to my sewing area at a very affordable price. I couldn’t be happier!

Comfortable, affordable, and great for small spaces!
Color: Light Purple, Color: Light Purple
I had previously left a review of two stars, but have since deleted that review after I've owned the chair for a few weeks now. Initially, I stated the chair was uncomfortable and not cushioned at all. But this issue quickly resolved after sitting it for a longer time, it seems the cushion molds to you. So it may be uncomfortable the first few times sitting on it, but it eventually softens. The cushion is now soft yet sturdy. You don't sink in too much, but it's comfortable for sitting for long periods of time. I personally enjoy the mesh back as well, it supports my lower back and doesn't cause back pain. Normally I have to use a cushion of my own to support my lower back for most chairs, but this one actually supports me in a way that doesn't require an extra cushion - so that's really nice. The chair is fairly on the smaller end, which is perfect for low desks or tight spaces, which is exactly what I wanted. The height can be adjusted, but even at the highest setting, it is still fairly low. Keep that in mind - it may not be super comfortable for those over 6 ft. The arms flip up which makes storing it under a low desk very easy. The cushion is thick and very accurate to the picture. I love that it is lightweight and doesn't make much noise when rolling the chair. It also feels very sturdy. Some of the reviews say it feels flimsy, and I don't know if some are just assembling it incorrectly, because for me this thing is very strong and holds up quite nicely under my weight. Overall, this is exactly what I wanted for my personal living space. A chair that's not too bulky, but comfortable enough to sit in for long hours. It functions as advertised for this purpose. One final thing -- the color selection is gorgeous. I bought the light purple color and it fits my setup nicely! Color was accurate to the picture, and looks very cute and adorable in my space.

Surprisingly amazing chair!
Color: Pink, Color: Pink
tl;dr: If you need a chair that has the features of this one, then this one is a winner! Hits above its weight class for sure. My wife is 5’. She’s small. For whatever reason she ended up with a chair made for big people, like 6+ feet and up to 500lbs type of a chair. She’d often even sleep on it and chill on it. The chair was big enough to fit 2 of her to be honest. It was an expensive chair that I won at some raffle and didn’t like myself. Over the years it ripped (got a cover for it) and even started to get lopsided (from the sleeping) and finally a spring broke (hence the pillow on it in the pictures) She obviously lives pink. I also wanted to get a chair where she could work and not end ip asleep on. Not like we have a couch or a bed for that 😂. This chair is very obviously smaller than her previous chair, it’s also significantly cheaper in price and build, it’s also not as durable feeling or stable, and it’s just not as padded. Yet somehow it’s an amazing chair that we both like better than her previous chair??? Like it’s crazy that this chair somehow works better in so many ways. Her desk is modified to be shorter than normal desks (again, she small lol) and her previous chair was just too big. The wheels are also like SUPER smooth, like you can run a chair race easily with it. It rolls over her rug and tucks into her desk (which is in our bedroom) easily. The amount of space this has save us when the chair isn’t being used is a lot. Previous chair was much bigger and didn’t tuck in at all. The color is nice and the padding is plenty for a small and much lighter than 500lbs woman. I’m 6 feet and 200 lbs and the chair is nice for me as well. My chair is bigger and more secure in the backing, which is similar to this one. The lowest tension setting on my chair is still too high for her to lean back on my chair. This chair has a lower tension minimum and she can easily lean back freely, as well as keep enough tension to work without sagging. This chair is surprisingly outstanding! I’m sure my wife will destroy it quicker than the last one, but it’s so cheap that even if it only lasts 1-3 years, I’ll happily buy it ones or twice more 🤷🏽‍♀️. Maybe by then they’ll invent a comfortable titanium chair that’s affordable that she won’t destroy 😂.

The chair is fine, and reasonably easy to put together. However, I've been using it for a little over a year and a half, and it's already falling apart. Random parts of it have fallen off, which is fine because it was still functional. But now the most frustrating part is that the wheels continue to pop off, and while the first attempts to pop them back on worked, they will not stay on now. This is obviously greatly impacting the stability, and I will need to purchase a replacement soon. For this price and lack of long-term durability, I would not buy again.
