Discover the timeless joy of fly fishing with "Hooked For Life: A Celebration of Fly Fishing," authored by seasoned angler Les Hill. This beautifully bound hardback edition, measuring 210 x 256 mm and featuring 208 pages, is your ultimate guide to the art of fly fishing in New Zealand, enriched by Les's remarkable 63 years of experience in the sport. Inside, you'll find a treasure trove of amusing stories and informative anecdotes that will resonate with both novice and experienced anglers alike.

The book invites readers to delve into the essence of fly fishing, highlighting not only the thrill of catching trout but also imparting invaluable lessons on angling techniques, including the use of nymphs and dry flies. You’ll discover tips for mastering streamside photography and learn to appreciate the delicate balance of nature that trout inhabit. Hill eloquently illustrates the philosophy that sometimes, the pursuit of that one special fish can outshine the number of catches on a given day.

Complementing Hill's narratives, the second part features insightful chapters by Dr. Graham Macdonald, exploring the healing power of fishing—a unique perspective seldom covered in fly fishing literature. Lavishly illustrated with over 120 stunning large-format color photographs, "Hooked For Life" captures the breathtaking beauty of New Zealand’s rivers, lakes, and countryside, inspiring readers to embark on their own fly fishing adventures. Perfect as a gift for any angler or for those who cherish the great outdoors, this book is an essential addition to any fishing enthusiast's library.

Based on Les Hill’s 63 years of fly fishing in New Zealand, HOOKED FOR LIFE is packed with interesting, amusing and informative anecdotes. The book resonates with the sheer joy of hunting and catching trout, while imparting a lifetime’s worth of invaluable lessons on how to go about it. The reader will not only benefit from the author’s years of experience with nymph and dry fly, but will enjoy soaking up the special atmosphere he evokes and relive vicariously the primal contest between angler and fish. Along the way they’ll learn to think like a trout and understand the nature of the world it lives in; get some tips on streamside photography; and come to appreciate the author’s view that it is often more satisfying to catch one special fish than a large number on a particular day, or that the trout that gets away can provide as much fun as several brought to a net. In the second part of the book, Dr Graham Macdonald’s thoughtful chapters on fishing and wellness give an insight into the therapeutic benefits of fly fishing, an unusual angle not often explored in fly fishing literature. From page one, HOOKED FOR LIFE is lavishly illustrated with over 120 superb large-format colour photographs that not only invite one into the book, but also reveal the beauty of our rivers, streams, lakes and countryside, and encourage the reader to head out to experience the wonderful world of fly fishing. Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.
