Details

The present work, one of Dittersdorf 's most striking minor key symphonies, was written no later than 1768, the year Stift Lambach acquired a copy. The symphony survives in seven sources and is also listed in three important thematic catalogues of the period: Lambach (1768), Breitkopf (Supplement VI 1772) and the Quartbuch (1775). Interestingly enough, the date 1768 coincides with the earliest of Haydn's so-called 'Sturm und Drang' symphonies, No.39 in g minor. The two works are very different in compositional approach although inhabit a similar emotional world. Significantly, a copy of Dittersdorf's symphony preserved in the Austrian National Library (S.m.15957) bears an attribution to Joseph Haydn. Dittersdorf's penchant for experimentation manifests itself in a novel way in this symphony. The development section of the first movement at once introduces new and seemingly irrelevant thematic material which serves as the basis for extensive modulatory extension. The logic of this is not made apparent until the Finale when an almost identical development section occurs but this time clearly based on the strong triadic opening theme. Thus, Dittersdorf brilliantly achieves an organic unity between the first and fourth movements of the symphony not by reusing earlier material in the Finale but by anticipating the development section of the Finale in the opening movement.

This edition is based on a set of manuscript parts now preserved in the Musikarchiv at Stift Kremsmnster (Ser.H Fasc.33 Nr.293). The wrapper reads: 'Sinfonia / a / Violino Primo / Violino Secondo / Flauto Traverso / Oboe Primo / Oboe Secondo / Corno Primo in G / Corno Secondo in B / Violoncello Fagotto / Viola à Basso / Del Sigre Carlo Ditters". In the absence of both the autograph score and an authentic set of parts, the edition presents as faithfully as possible the intentions of the composer as transmitted in the Kremsmnster source. The style and notation of articulation and dynamic markings have been standardized throughout, and, where missing from the source, reconstructed from parallel passages. These are indicated by the use of dotted slurs or brackets where appropriate. Like most eighteenth century sources, the present manuscript is inconsistent in its notation of appoggiature; these too have been standardized to minimize confusion. Obvious wrong notes have been corrected without comment; editorial emendations with no authority from the source are placed within brackets. Allan Badley

Breathable lightweight golf polo
Color: White, Size: Large, Color: White, Size: Large
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much, but this polo turned out to be a really solid buy. The fabric is super lightweight and breathable, you can actually feel the airflow because of the mesh texture. I wore it on a warm day and didn’t feel all sweaty and gross. It dries pretty fast too, which is a big plus. I like the quarter-zip design a lot more than I thought I would. It gives it a slightly more modern, sporty look compared to regular polos, and you can unzip it a bit if it gets hot. The contrast trim is a nice touch without being over the top. The stretch is probably my favorite part. It moves really well, whether I’m swinging a golf club or just going about my day. Doesn’t feel stiff at all, and it keeps its shape after wearing it for hours. I’ve worn it for golf, casual outings, and even to work once, and it fits in everywhere. Easy to pair with pretty much anything. Also, super easy to take care of, no wrinkles and still looks good after washing. Overall, really comfortable, looks good, and feels like it’ll last. I’d definitely get another one in a different color. Great value for the price point.

Comfortable, Breathable, and Stylish Polo
Color: White, Size: Large, Color: White, Size: Large
I’ve been very happy with this polo shirt. The fabric feels lightweight, soft, and stretchy, making it extremely comfortable to wear throughout the day. The mesh texture provides excellent breathability, and the moisture-wicking material does a great job of keeping you cool and dry in warm weather. The quarter-zip collar gives the shirt a modern, sporty look that stands out from a traditional button polo. It also allows you to unzip it a bit for extra airflow when needed. The fit is true to size with a clean athletic cut that looks sharp without feeling too tight or restrictive. The white color is slightly see-through in bright light, so that’s something to keep in mind. It’s not overly transparent, but it can be noticeable depending on what you wear underneath. One of the things I like most is how versatile this shirt is. It works perfectly for golf, but it also looks great for casual outings, travel, or even business-casual settings. The stretchy material moves comfortably with your body and never feels stiff. The overall quality is very good. The stitching is clean, the zipper feels sturdy, and the shirt has held up well after several washes. It has not shrunk, lost its shape, or shown any fading, which is always a good sign. It also comes out of the wash looking smooth with very few wrinkles, so it’s easy to care for and convenient if you travel often. For the price, this is an excellent value. It offers a great combination of comfort, performance, and style, and it feels like a much more expensive shirt. I would definitely buy more colors.

Deep black and crisp white, this collar really pops.
Color: Black, Size: XX-Large, Color: Black, Size: XX-Large
I love this shirt. The fabric is hard to describe, but it’s very comfortable, cool, and soft. If you’re looking for something highly breathable, this is it. The quality is well made, and the zipper is great. I’m not worried about it splitting or the zipper coming off. It’s fantastic, very comfortable, and fits me really well, even though I’m over 6 feet tall. The value for the money is great. I’ve already mentioned how soft it feels, and the appearance is great too. That white collar really pops against the crisp dark black. I know the picture doesn’t capture it well and looks a bit washed out, but in person the black is very black and the white is crisp white, exactly as shown in the listing photos.
