SRAM EAGLE TRANSMISSION 1987 COLLECTION

When we started chasing the dream of a better ride, we could never have predicted what we’d be riding some 38 years later. But the realization of Eagle Transmission remains true to day one. And while we’re never satisfied, we’re taking a moment to celebrate with the 1987 Collection. The limited edition groupset features a unique combination of T-Type Ecosystem components of which we’re most proud, all in an exclusive silver finish. This is the 1987 Collection. The dream delivered.

Eagle Transmission 1987 - Cassette
Rooted in the architecture of our lightest weight MTB cassette, XX SL, we were able to shave off an additional 25 grams without sacrificing performance or durability. Same 10-52T range, same X-Sync teeth for game-changing best shift under load performance.

  • Lightest-weight T-Type cassette shaves an additional 25g from benchmark XX SL cassette

Not compatible with E-MTB

Eagle Transmission 1987  - Power Meter Crankset
Take the most advanced aluminum crankset we’ve ever made, X0 T-Type, and pair it with our most accurate and integrated power meter. The dual-sided power measurement system calculates total watts while being subtle, lightweight, and boasting an unbeatable battery life. The ground-breaking crankset offers an all-aluminum design and a perfectly balanced stiffness-to-weight ratio.

  • X0 inspired aluminum crankset available in most common 170mm length only
  • Spider-based power meter provides dual-sided power, and threaded chainrings
  • 34t and 32t Chainrings and Threaded Chainring Removal Tool included

Eagle Transmission 1987 - AXS Derailleur
Perfectly blending weight and robustness, the 1987 derailleur is the definition of performance, durability and style achieved by combining the rugged cage from our XX derailleur with the lightweight body of our XX SL derailleur. The limited silver colourway is paired with Full Mount architecture to deliver a derailleur that delivers the perfect shift every time.

  • Aluminum Inline Cage assembly paired with lightest weight AXS Full Mount Transmission derailleur body

Eagle Transmission 1987 - Flattop Chain

The 1987 Collection T-Type chain features hollow links, hollow pins, and a Hard Chrome coating pushing the strength-to-weight ratio to an unprecedented level. The subtle detailing carries the handwriting of SRAM founder, Stan Day, as well the unique groupset serial number.

  • Hollow link and pin T-Type chain with Hard Chrome coating for light weight durability

Eagle Transmission 1987 - AXS Pod Controllers

Two AXS Pod Ultimate Controllers complete the kit, giving you an organized cockpit and the freedom of left and right-hand customization touchpoints. It includes silver infinity clamps to compliment the rest of the system.

  • Two Pod Controllers for Reverb AXS integration and left and right-hand customization

Eagle Transmission 1987 - Accessories
Because you don’t always know, we’ve included 32t and 34t Chainrings, as well as the required Threaded Chainring Removal Tool to tailor your drivetrain to suit your needs. A 4-Battery USB-C charger fills four AXS batteries in the same time as a single charger. While two included AXS batteries ensure that you’ve always got a spare.

Limited Edition
Produced in a limited run of just 1,987 groupsets worldwide—each one individually numbered, and with a finish you won’t find anywhere else, this a celebration of where we started and everything we’re proud of right now. So whether you’re upgrading, or assembling a once-in-a-lifetime build, this is a chance to experience Eagle Transmission in the most unique way. And when they’re gone, they’re gone.

Perfect reference guide
Format: Paperback
I bought this book to supplement my lessons with an AMGA guide to learn how to set up toprope climbs. I used it many times to practice and reinforce everything I learned. It is really well written and my favorite book in terms of the knowledge contained within. As common sense would dictate this is not a book to teach your how to toprope...it is a reference to what you have learned?

Essential To Read Before the Class
Format: Paperback
This book provides a good overview of what you'll need to know for your AMGA Single Pitch Instructor (SPI) course and assessment. If you plan to take that course this book is a no-brainer. You just have to buy it and read it. There are a few shortcomings: * The photos of how to tie the knots skip a lot and it is impossible to learn the knots from the book. * The photos of what not to do should be clearly labeled with a red cross bar or WRONG overlay on the photo. If you flip causally through the book and look at the photos some very wrong stuff is there and you have to read the text to know that it is not recommended. * The religious debate on anchor systems rages on. Should you set up a Joshua Tree System with Tether or a Backside System? I realize the AMGA doesn't want to pick sides and will say either is acceptable, but the book doesn't even try to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of various anchor systems.

over all good book, quality pictures
Format: Paperback
this book will get you ready for the course, but there is a lot to learn outside of the book as well. Training and time is the only way to become truly proficient at the skills out lined in this book. over all good book, quality pictures.
