FAQ Level 3 Mathematics:

What is a Level 3 Qualification?
Level 3 qualifications are set at an equivalent level to AS/A Levels and are therefore the next step after GCSE qualifications.

What additional equipment do I need to bring to the exams?
All answers must be written in black pen, but for Level 3 Mathematics you may use a HB pencil for graphs and diagrams. You should also ensure that you have a ruler and an eraser. Mathematical equipment such as a protractor and compasses may be required so it is best to bring these.

Which calculators are allowed for the exams?
A scientific or graphical calculator which meets JCQ regulations is the best option for Level 3 Mathematics, if the calculator has any memory capacity this must be cleared before the exam and the calculator should have no formulae or other information on it. All graphical calculators (if allowed by the specification) will need to be put into UK exam mode when you arrive for the exam, please ensure that you know how to do this otherwise you will not be allowed to use the calculator.

Why are there different options for some of the courses?
The AQA and OCR courses allow students to choose to focus on particular topics while the Pearson course requires all topics to be studied. Please ensure that you select the correct option when booking your exams.

How do I get the preliminary material?
The relevant preliminary material will be emailed to you once it has been released by the exam board. The release date varies depending on the exam board.

Do I need to bring a copy of the preliminary material to the exam?
No, you are not allowed to bring your copy of the preliminary material to the exam. You will be provided with a clean copy of the preliminary material to use in the exam along with the formulae sheet.

Good quality dog ball for playing fetch
Size: Medium
My dog and family love these chuck it balls to play fetch with our dog. They are durable and fun. They squeak which is added fun for any dog! Regular tennis balls my dog chews apart and they get pretty gross after playing and being left outside. These can be easily washed off and cleaned. These balls last! Would recommend to anyone with a dog and would purchase again.

so elegant but best for softer foods
Color: Gold, Color: Gold
I am impressed with this gold silverware. I was surprised because they are very light, but they are also elegant. The handles are a little longer than the usual plasticware, so holding them, using them to eat, made me feel like the meal was elevated. These would be perfect at a garden party, a brunch, a fancy picnic. I love that there are equal numbers of knives, forks, and spoons, and they would look beautiful at place settings, or just tossed into glasses for people to grab what they need. My one misgiving about recommending these for any occasion is the knife. It’s just not sharp, and like the other pieces, it is lightweight. It’s great for spreading butter onto a roll and could cut through soft foods like pasta or cake. But any attempt to cut through a piece of meat or a starchy vegetable that’s just lightly cooked will result in the knife snapping in half. But if you’re serving relatively soft foods (brunch would be perfect!), then this is an elegant, easy solution to feed a lot of people while keeping cleanup to a minimum.
