Opening the doors to the record storage compartment, you find several dozen mint-condition 78 rpm records looking as if they had just come from the store. There are vaudeville sketches, marching bands, vocal quartets, dance bands, instrumental solos, whistling records, and much more. You wind up the phonograph, insert a steel needle, and play one... and then another... and then another. Soon a very pleasant hour has passed, filled with the marvelous entertainment of voices and instrumentalists from a century ago. This CD compilation brings such an imagined scenario gloriously to life. Enjoy 21 selections recorded between 1903 and 1924, expertly transferred from mint copies of the original 78 rpm records.
