The Waterloo White Hawks, based in Waterloo, Iowa, played in the Illinois-Indiana-Iowa League from 1940 to 1942 and from 1946 to 1956 as a Chicago White Sox affiliate, playing home games at Riverfront Stadium on the Cedar River. The city had first entered the Three-I in 1910 with the Waterloo Boosters, gone without a team from 1912 through 1937, then returned as the Red Hawks in 1938. The White Hawks era that followed produced both the city's only Three-I championship and some of the finest young talent to pass through any Class B roster in the postwar decade.

The 1947 White Hawks won the Three-I League championship under manager Jack Onslow, drawing a club record 174,000 fans in the process. Onslow was promoted to manage the big-league White Sox the following year. In 1954 Hall of Famer Luis Aparicio played 94 games for the White Hawks at shortstop, batting .282 and making the Three-I All-Star second team despite a hernia-shortened season. His teammate that year, catcher Earl Battey, won the Three-I Rookie of the Year award and later caught for the 1965 American League champion Minnesota Twins. The 1955 White Hawks featured Norm Cash, who won the 1961 AL batting title with a .361 average for the Detroit Tigers; Barry Latman, who went 13-5 as a 1961 AL All-Star for Cleveland; and manager Willard Marshall, himself a two-time National League All-Star who had hit 36 home runs for the New York Giants in 1947.

The White Sox ended their Waterloo working agreement after the 1956 season. The White Hawks identity ended with it. Waterloo returned to professional baseball in 1958 under a different name and affiliation, and the city hosts the collegiate-level Waterloo Bucks of the Northwoods League today.

Nice Everyday Watch
Color: Silver-tone/White
The watchband was a bit too big and no one seems to be able to take out a link. Other than that, it's an excellent inexpensive everyday watch

Great watch, terrible band. Had two of these, both bands fell apart within weeks.
Color: Silver-tone/White, Color: Silver-tone/White
I had one just like this before. Great watch except they made one very bad change in the band which makes them fall apart within weeks. They don't tell time if you have to throw them in the garbage because of bands that fell apart. I like it, a nice clean dial, works fine, and you can make it light up to check the time in the dark. But some idiot made a terrible design change in the band. The center 1/3" of band is not twistable and falls apart easily. I've had two of these; both fell apart within weeks. The previous similar one that I owned without this design defect lasted me many years.

its a simple watch
Color: Silver-tone/White
This was a gift for my 80 Y/O father, the numbers are easy to read and the date (Numbered day only) will have to be adjusted if the month is 30 days instead of 31. The wristband fit perfectly, so there was no adjustment of links. He has had it for a month now and forgot to take it off when he entered the shower, still works, but wont let that happen again. If it lasts a year I will be happy, it wasn't expensive for a Timex and the silver color looked like silver.

Time work watch
Color: Silver-tone/White
Inexpensive work watch, they last forever, the only complaint I have is that the band broke and I couldn’t find a replacement band, so I had it repaired instead , the watch works great.
