Description:
British artist and designer Stuart Haygarth gathers discarded or overlooked objects and elevates them into art. He makes exquisite designs and stunning installations out of common detritus and everyday waste. Yet his work is as much about the process of collecting and collating materials as it is the creation of value or beauty. For Strand - the Old English and Old German word for 'beach' - he walked the entire length of the English south coast, from Gravesend to Land's End, picking up hundreds of man-made items left washed up on the shore. Combs, lighters and baby dolls, plastic balls, toys, containers and shoes were just some of the many objects he gathered on the 450-mile trip. Back in the studio, he categorized every item by type and colour before arranging them into precise compositions and photographing them. Displaying the formal rigour of the designer and the aesthetic eye of the artist, the resulting images seduce with their beauty and visual immediacy. The objects form an archive of sorts, a fragmented narrative of unknown people's lives, as well as a material document of Haygarth's journey. But his beautiful pictures tell another tale too: the story of our reckless pollution of the environment, for each of these manufactured objects has been thrown away and then carried by the world's oceans and seas. They are the flotsam and jetsam of daily life.

Great little watch for the money
Color: Brown/Brown/Natural, Color: Brown/Brown/Natural
I've just received the watch, so I can't comment on the durability. Hopefully it lasts a long time, because I really like this watch. My first impression of the watch was that it was a bit smaller than what I'm used to wearing. But when I put it on, it seemed like a good fit. The band looks great and feels pretty comfortable. I like the color of the band, and of the watch face itself. Even with my older eyes (56 years), I can easily read the time. The date, not so much. It's pretty tiny. Setting the time and date was pretty simple. And even though I knew this watch had it, I stumbled upon activating the Indiglo feature by accident. It's pretty cool, btw.
Some people have commented on the ticking. The environment in which I wear the watch is never completely silent, even at home. I have to put the watch pretty close to my ear to hear it, and I have good hearing. When I do hear it, it's actually a pleasant sound to me.
To sum it all up, I love this watch! I actually do a little watch collecting. This is by far the least expensive watch I own. And now, the one I'll wear the most.

Loud but one of my go-tos
Color: Gunmetal/Black/Green
I have young kids so a nice watch is always a risky game to play. This one is awesome, discreet, tough and looks awesome on a black nato strap. You can hear the ticking though when it’s really quiet. I tune it out but some might have an issue with it.
