We have all seen a dropped rill bit hit the ground accidently. I had one hit me on storm not long ago and just got lucky it wasn't worse. I knew my pole buddy up the pole would have never let that bit get away from him but between wet gloves and a dying head lamp, things can happen. That's when the Bit Grip came to life.

These are made out of a solid steel and each one comes with a very strong 12KN carabiner. I run 2 of these on my belt that way i have one for both my bit and socket. If you run just one you will still find yourself having to balance one or the other when swapping out on your drill.
