The plant was grown in Asia and Egypt for the purpose of dyeing as early as 1500 BC. The Egyptians are credited with developing several techniques to produce a Lake pigment. The best pigment they produced came from plants 18 to 28 months old that had been grown in soil rich with lime and chalk.

During the 17th century British army red coats were made with a shade of madder! Please note before some of you email me to tell me that I am mad to put such a terribly fugitive colour in the range let me say in its defense its included for its historic and colour beauty and is simply here to let artists get closer to the pallets of earlier times. Unless you display it in direct sunshine it will last for years with little change. When was the last time you saw a Rembrandt being tested in sunlight, which is the criteria for modern pigments! Great fluffy ones

I originally order this pillows to use as Shams for an oversize king comforter but they came out to small for that, but after seen the qualitu i kept them for my daily use ones.
The size is perfect, and the quality feels much higher than the price suggests. It's soft yet supportive, holds its shape well, and adds a real touch of comfort to the bed. For the price, it’s a fantastic deal. The pillow look big and they are super fuffly.
Highly recommend if you're looking for great value without sacrificing quality!

Fantastic pillow

Super comfortable for a bit of a firm pillow it is king size and lightweight, it gets pretty warm pretty quick, I stack both pillows on top of each other in the same pillow case for extreme support but that's just me.

King size great pillows!!!!!

I ordered this 2-pack of king-size pillows to upgrade my bed, and I’m so glad I did. The size is perfect for a king bed and instantly made everything look more full and put together.
When they arrived, the pillows fluffed up nicely and felt soft yet supportive. They’re not too flat and not overly firm, which makes them really comfortable whether you’re sleeping on your back or side.
I’ve been using these for a bit now and they’ve held their shape well through the night. They provide good neck and head support without feeling stiff, and they don’t go flat by morning.
