High-Density SAE Felt
SAE F-50 industrial wool felt is a highly dense felt, similar in density to F-1, and best suited to applications that require an accurate, thin, smooth high-grade felt. This felt grade is also used for ball and roller bearing oil retainer washers and small dust-excluding washers. Use this felt in installations where it will not be compressed, for feeding low viscosity or light oil, and where strength, durability, and hardness are required.

Please note: Our industrial felts are made with wool that comes from free roaming sheep. Although felt is washed and carbonized there may be some vegetable matter and other debris lingering in the coat. Due to the natural origin of the material slight color variation will occur from lot to lot. Sheep hair comes in a variety of beige and gray tones, making it difficult to guarantee consistent color between rolls without dying the material.

Features: Hard, thin, inflexible, moderate oil absorption and retention.
Advantages: Highly durable, excellent resistance to abrasion and wear.
Applications: Anti-vibration dampening pads, bearing seals, bushings, gaskets, gun wads, oil and grease retention or friction gaskets, polishing jewelry, resoling dance shoes, shelf lining, sign holder, to prevent powder migration across equipment, washers, wicks/fluid transfer, and window channels.
