From humble beginnings as a schoolgirl and young violinist in Maywood, Illinois, Sheila Johnson rose to become one of the most accomplished businesswomen in America. A cofounder of Black Entertainment Television, she became an entrepreneur and philanthropist at the highest levels. But that success came at a painful personal cost. Sheila grew up in a middle-class family that encouraged her love of the arts and music. But her idyllic childhood ended at age sixteen when her beloved father announced he was leaving for another woman, an act that shattered her mother and destroyed Sheila's trust. She vowed she'd never be in her mother's position--dependent on a man for her sense of self-worth and for financial security. Yet when she was barely out of her teens, Sheila married a man who would take her right down that same unfortunate path. I purchased the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G for my mom, and it has been a great choice for her. She was able to set it up and start using it without any confusion, which was important to me. The screen is bright and clear, making it easy for her to read messages, browse the internet, and view photos. The camera takes nice pictures, and the battery lasts long enough that she doesn’t have to worry about charging it constantly. The fact that it was unlocked made it easy for her to use it with the carrier in the Bahamas. Overall, it’s a reliable, easy-to-use phone that offers excellent value for the price.

Good phone for the money

Got this for my wife after the battery in her Motorola phone blew up like a balloon. It's a decent phone. Camera is better than her old one. Glad that it has a SD card for her pics. Sometimes it's a bit laggy when she tries to unlock it. Works fine once it wakes up. All in all, I'd say it's a good value for the money for people who don't need a super high end phone.

The absolute bottom line in performance and price.

This phone is the bottom line. It's just enough RAM. A nice OLED display. And that is about it. This dog was heaving like it was running a marathon after set up and a restart. Normally I'd buy a refurbished Pixel, but the prices and support dates are out of my budget sadly. Just playing around to see how the menus looked, the UI crashed after hanging for about 45 seconds. I can't say I hate it, there's much worse out there. Hence I'd call this the bottom line, lowest standard.
