Glutamate Scavenger II has been carefully formulated to support the body’s natural ability to balance glutamate and GABA, supporting relaxation, restful sleep, and decreasing inflammation. L-Theanine provides gentle methylation support for under-methylators.
This product is designed to help the body reduce glutamate levels. Glutamate is an excitatory neurotransmitter that, in excess, can lead to an array of symptoms and health problems. Defects in specific genes may lead to higher glutamate levels.
Glutamate, an excitatory neurotransmitter, is a cofactor for the inhibitory molecule GABA and must be strictly moderated for optimal function of the central nervous system. Mutations found in the GAD gene, responsible for producing GABA, may signify a relationship to gluta- mate levels. Excessive levels of glutamate, known as excitotoxicity, can result in cellular damage, anxiety and even cell death.
Moreover, excessive glutamate has the potential to increase acetyl-choline, induce insomnia, and reduce levels of glutathione, a critical antioxidant. Glutamate Scavenger II has the critical ingredients to naturally support the body’s ability to balance neurotransmitters levels; it is important to note that this is the second Glutamate Scavenger formula, without niacin, which may be especially beneficial for those with low total methyl group production.
