Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass, and because of the way it forms, it often contains tiny air bubbles within its structure. When these bubbles are exposed during cutting or polishing, they can create small vugs, pockets, or holes on the surface. These features are completely natural, not damage, and are part of the crystal’s authentic formation.

Gold Sheen, Silver Sheen, and Rainbow Obsidian show their flash or color best under bright sunlight or a strong flashlight. You may need to gently rotate or shift your piece to catch the full sheen—this is normal and expected with all sheen obsidian.

All pieces are hand-inspected by both my supplier and myself to ensure you receive obsidian with visible flash or color. Any pieces without flash are removed from inventory. If you cannot immediately see the sheen in indoor or dull lighting, please rotate the crystal or view it under a brighter light—rest assured, the flash is present.

Because Obsidian is volcanic glass, it can also develop light surface scratches during carving or polishing. These minor marks are typical for this material and do not affect its beauty, durability, or energy.
