The design of this 28-style ''D'' acoustic guitar pays homage to its predecessors, echoing the historic dreadnaught body shape that Martin Guitars pioneered. This shape has been treasured by guitarists for its commanding voice and formidable projection. The Sitka spruce top, a classic choice for premium acoustics, harmonizes exquisitely with the quilted bubinga back and sides, which have been meticulously hand-selected by Russo Music, to produce a tonal blend that is rich, robust, and naturally resonant.

The Martin Custom Shop D-28's bracing design, a forward-shifted X-Brace made from 5/16" Sitka Spruce, provides a balanced strength-to-flexibility ratio, allowing the top to vibrate freely while maintaining structural stability.

The guitar's neck, fashioned from select hardwood, features a comfortable Modified Low Oval profile that smoothly transitions into a 16" radius ebony fingerboard. Adorned with abalone long patterned Diamond and Squares inlays, the fingerboard is not just a playground for your fingers, but a visual feast for the eyes.

In keeping with its acoustic roots, the guitar intentionally excludes any electronics. This deliberate omission honors the purity of the guitar's acoustic voice, allowing the natural resonance of the selected woods to shine without any interference. The guitar's finish – a natural gloss on the body and satin on the neck – accentuates the inherent beauty of the wood grain and feels smooth under the player's hand.
