The color is a pinkish brown with lighter colored mottling and some light spalting. This block has subtle, attractive grain patterns, which includes darker streaks and knots. It is lightly spalted with "white rot" style spalting. Most of these pieces also have a bit of black line spalting. This wood has been carefully air dried to 10 12% moisture

There are some drying cracks present that we recommend you fill with CA glue prior to or during turning. Pear wood typically has a fine and even grain pattern, which can result in a smooth and attractive surface when turned. This fine grain allows for intricate details and clean cuts. It is delightful to turn! |

Perfect for Thanksgiving and Christmas
These platters are sturdy and just the right size if you’re having a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner and don’t want to deal with a bunch of dishes. My family use them for the first time this year and we were absolutely delighted. The platters are sturdy, high-quality, significantly larger than the 10 inch paper plates and hold a large amount of food which is essential when you’re serving a large meal.

Perfect for every occasion. Absolutely love this brand.

these are very nice platter/plates
these are not quite as thick as I was hoping for, but they’re really nice. I guess I’m just used to using paper plate holders underneath them but if you use two together, they’ll hold just about anything that you can put on them.
