Three Classic Delay Voices

JHS's Flight Delay takes off with an effortless effect interface perfect for loading plenty of tonal options onto a board without any menu-diving, hidden functionalities, or anything in between – everything you need, nothing you don't. A multi-mode effect pedal, the Flight Delay clocks in with three classic delay sounds ready for action. Onboard, JHS packs an analog, digital, and reverse delay – all embodying elements of some of founder Josh Scott's favorite delay units from across time.

Your three delay modes pack an effective punch for getting classic sounds across. The Flight Delay's analog mode echoes in with classic, dark, filtered repeats. To match this, the pedal's digital mode blinks with bright, crisp repeats. For some even more delay fun, the third mode, a reverse delay, plays delay signals backwards for some enveloping waves of inversed repeats.

Classic Repeats and Time controls harness the amount of feedback or repeats in the delay signal and the time intervals between repeats. The Flight Delay's Time control can dial in repeats scaling from fifty milliseconds to one second while its Repeats control can roll up to infinite repeats. Additionally, a master EQ control adjusts the color and tone of the repeats for darker, warmer delays to this control's left and lighter, cleaner delays to its right.

Deeper Functionality

Another consideration JHS built into this delay is an onboard Modulation function with Mod Depth and Mod Rate controls to dial in some added modulated flavor onto the delay repeats. A three-way modulation toggle accesses the Flight Delay's modulation powers through a chorus, a vibrato, or completely off. Alongside this added function is a subdivision toggle that allows for added customization of repeats with quarter, eighth, and dotted eighth note repeat intervals.

Further functionality on the Flight Delay includes a tap tempo footswitch that can be extended to an external tap control through a mono TS cable into the expression jack. This capability can be expanded with a stereo TRS cable into the expression jack for connectivity to an expression pedal with the polarity set to "Tip". On this setting, the heel position on an expression pedal will produce the fastest delay time and slow as the pedal is moved to the toe position. A trails bypass mode can be accessed by holding both footswitches for two seconds while the pedal is on. With this addition, the delay trails can be set to fade out past the pedal being disengaged or not.
