Tasting Notes

Appearance

Rich, warm amber — the deep, inviting colour of a 12-year-old Islay single malt presented in a striking smoked oak glass bottle, with the depth and character that un-chillfiltered maturation and Bunnahabhain’s distinctive Islay heritage deliver.

Aroma

Fresh and aromatic — a subtle whiff of smoke floating through the air, with the clean, distinctive, and characterfully Islay bouquet of an un-chillfiltered single malt that has been allowed to express itself fully and without compromise.

Palate

Light fruit and nut leading to a spectacular malty sweetness — the un-chillfiltered character of Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old delivering the full texture, depth, and complexity that chillfiltering would have stripped away. Rich, satisfying, and unmistakably Islay.

Pairs With

Exceptional neat or with a drop of water to open the complexity — equally at home alongside smoked salmon, aged cheeses, dark chocolate, and any occasion that calls for a whisky of genuine Islay character and heritage.

Finish

Beautifully rich, full-bodied, and lingering — the malty sweetness, fruit, and subtle smoke fading slowly and invitingly, leaving a warm, complex close that makes every glass a genuinely rewarding Islay experience.

Superman is really SUPER!
Format: Paperback
Fans of superheroes cannot do without this collection of the earliest stories of the Man of Tomorrow. Superman is the epitome of what followed in the era of early superheroes and laid the groundwork for comics even today, as well as radio, TV and movie versions.

Nice collection
Format: Paperback
This is completely worth the money and the time to read. It's like taking a time machine to before he was famous. Man, this is not like present day stories and art. To me this is a history book for every comic book fan. Much like the Bstman Chronicles.

Exciting and fast paced
Format: Kindle
Loved the stories within stories flashbacks. It all ties in nicely in the end and leaves a cool cliffhanger. The art is fantastic and so is the sifting in of beloved Star Wars characters from the past. Good storyline to follow!

Great way to add even more depth to Black Spire Outpost
Format: Paperback
Having just visited Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, I really enjoyed learning more layers of depth and stories from there with this collection of comics. Having read "A Crash of Fate" and "Black Spire" was a great way to do that as well, but this was obviously a quicker read, and also spanned many different times and with some different characters, too. Great for readers with shorter attention spans, too! Recommended!

A great tie-in to the Disney parks
Format: Paperback
Welcome to the Black Spire Outpost on Batuu! I haven't been yet, but you may have if you've recently visited Disney World or Disney Land. There's obviously a lot of references to how the actual park looks. The cover featured the Millenium Falcon just like the actual attraction. This graphic novel tells one story focusing on one of the original characters made for the parks: Dok-Ondar. Within the big story there are four smaller tales being retold. Han Solo deals with a baby sarlacc. Greedo's ego is showcased. Hando comes in contact with the Guardians of the Whills. And, Doctor Aphra travels to the Sith Homeworld of Moraband. Each of these stories show off different aspects of the park that you can see for yourself if you go in person. This is what Star Wars does so well, making connections and building a big lived-in world. There are plenty of wonderful references. Ki-Adi-Mundi and Chirrut are just two of my favorites. Dok-Ondar is the true star of this book. He's an underworld mastermind. I give this book a 3.5/5. It's full of fun stories with connections to the park and featured characters from different eras. This definitely is a tie-in story, though.
