The Craft: Hand Carving
Each stick is carved from a single piece of sandalwood. The dog motif is shaped with a small carving knife, then sanded smooth. The wood's natural grain shows through the finish, making every piece slightly different.
The three color options come from different sandalwood species: black, green, and red. Each has its own base tone and grain pattern.
The Sandalwood
Sandalwood has been used in Chinese carving for centuries. It has a subtle, lasting fragrance that becomes more noticeable when warmed by the hair. The wood is dense and polishes to a soft sheen.
Because it is a natural material, expect variation in grain and color between sticks. Small tool marks or slight asymmetry are not defects — they show the hand-carved origin.
Fit & Care
This 140mm stick is best for fine to medium hair, or for creating smaller buns on thicker hair. If you have very thick or heavy hair, consider a longer, thicker stick from our wooden hair sticks collection for a more secure hold.
Care: Keep dry. Wipe with a soft cloth after use. Do not soak in water or expose to prolonged humidity. Store away from direct heat.
