YOUNG, Gavin [contributor]. Malaysia. Heart of Southeast Asia. Photographs by 46 of the World's Finest Photographers with a Foreword by Adibah Amin and Essays by Gavin Young and Paul Wachtel. Singapore. Archipelago Press. 1991.

Folio. Original cloth with dust wrapper; pp. 256, highly illustrated in colour throughout; provenance: Gavin Young's copy, from the estate of Gritta Weil (see below).

First edition. Gavin Young's copy with a compliments slip from the publisher loosely inserted inscribed "With the compliments of Didier Millet". Young has made an ink correction on p. 96. With this copy is an early 38 page typescript of Young's essay with numerous corrections by the author in blue ink. The final printed version has further changes from this draft. Also included is a 3-page typed Introduction for the book with a note in Young's hand "This was not used, I think". Finally with Gavin Young's invitation to the launch of the book on 26th July 1991.

Gritta Weil (1924-2009), a refugee from Germany, worked for The Observer from 1945 to 1984, and was a close friend of the travel writer and journalist for the same paper, Gavin Young (1928-2001), who is most remembered for his 1977 book Return to the Marshes, based on his life with the Marsh Arabs of Iraq. This was followed by an account of his travels in Mesopotamia in 1980.

Truly a SLIM fit
This is DEFINITELY a slim fit. It is true to size but expect it to be fitted pretty tightly on your arms and chest. The material is some kind of stretchy woven knit but thin so good for wearing out and not sweating but because of the slim fit, the tighter arms, I would never risk a golf swing in this for fear of hulking out of the seams. The color is a very nice light blue, true to the pictures and the style is great for someone ok with showing off their body. Overall, a good fall shirt for an affordable price.

These I liked. T-shirt material but with the mock turtle neck collar. Light and airy. Going to buy more.

NICE FABRIC, good sizing
Size: X-Large, Color: Black, White, Blue
These shirts are nice and long, which I appreciate being over 6' tall. I am always reluctant to buy any shirts that are not tall size, but these are long enough to solve that problem. The fabric is soft and comfortable... a good price for good shirts.
