When federal agents and snipers showed up to seize Cliven Bundy’s cattle in 2014, they expected another easy display of government dominance. Instead, they faced something they didn’t anticipate: armed American citizens willing to stand their ground. Ranchers, militia members, and everyday citizens took to the high ground on an overpass, rifles in hand, turning the tables on the BLM and FBI agents below.

With the feds caught in the crosshairs, and the world watching, the government did something it almost never does — it backed down. They released the cattle, packed up their snipers, and left. The people had won.

But it didn’t end there. The government doesn’t like to lose.

In 2016, Cliven Bundy, his sons Ammon and Ryan, and several supporters were arrested and charged with everything from conspiracy to assault on federal agents. The government threw the book at them, hoping to regain control of the narrative.
