The Cometic MLS gasket is comprised of three to five layers of stainless steel. Cometic uses stainless steel for increased strength, its ability to rebound and resist corrosion. The only time it sort of a pain is when I fold it. In saying that, I would buy again. The velvety side is a soft tan/beige and the fur side is creams, off white and variations of the tan/beiges. So lovely. You can see it next to a solid cream colored blanket I have that I also bought on Amazon. It matches well and I love it!
