Discover a transformative journey through time and narrative with 'Literature for a Changing Planet' by Martin Puchner. This essential read, published by Princeton University Press in 2022, explores the intersection of literature and the urgent climate crisis we face today. Acknowledging the amplified significance of storytelling in these precarious times, Puchner reflects on over four thousand years of global literature to unveil critical lessons on our relationship with the environment. Literature is not merely entertainment; it is an archive of our human experience, intertwined with the ecological scars of exploitation and resource depletion. From ancient texts like the Epic of Gilgamesh to pivotal works such as the Communist Manifesto, this book illuminates how literary narratives have simultaneously reflected and shaped our understanding of nature and sustainability. Puchner implores readers to rethink their connection with the earth and offers vital insights into how we can use literature as a powerful tool for ecological understanding and activism. In a world grappling with climate emergency, this book serves as both a historical reflection and a hopeful guide, encouraging us to craft a new narrative for our collective future.

Description:
Reading literature in a time of climate emergency can sometimes feel a bit like fiddling while Rome burns. Yet, at this turning point for the planet, scientists, policymakers, and activists have woken up to the power of stories in the fight against global warming. In Literature for a Changing Planet, Martin Puchner ranges across four thousand years of world literature to draw vital lessons about how we put ourselves on the path of climate change—and how we might change paths before it’s too late.
From the Epic of Gilgamesh and the West African Epic of Sunjata to the Communist Manifesto, Puchner reveals world literature in a new light—as an archive of environmental exploitation and a product of a way of life responsible for climate change. Literature depends on millennia of intensive agriculture, urbanisation, and resource extraction, from the clay of ancient tablets to the silicon of e-readers. Yet literature also offers powerful ways to change attitudes toward the environment. Puchner uncovers the ecological thinking behind the idea of world literature since the early nineteenth century, proposes a new way of reading in a warming world, shows how literature can help us recognise our shared humanity, and discusses the possible futures of storytelling.
If we are to avoid environmental disaster, we must learn to tell the story of humans as a species responsible for global warming. Filled with important insights about the fundamental relationship between storytelling and the environment, Literature for a Changing Planet is a clarion call for readers and wri

Great suit!
Color: Black, Size: Small
Great suit! Suit is well made for the price. Very comfortable, nice material and could be worn for any occasion no matter the time of year. We ordered according to the size chart and fit great! Would be easy to do a little tailoring if needed tho. Came in quick and is exactly what we needed. Will be ordering other colors for the future!

Just an unbelievable purchase and strongly recommend
Color: Black, Size: Medium
Unbelievable! One of the BEST purchases I made. Fits perfectly, wasn’t wrinkled at all. In fact, I don’t need to take it to the cleaners to be pressed. Class all the way. Well made, elegant, fabric was perfect as it was not too thin. Compared to tuxedos in the store and this was exactly the same. Only difference is this suit was $150 less!

Good. Decent quality.
Color: Black, Size: Small
The quality is good, especially for the price. I didn’t like that the wrist buttons were non functional. We bought cuffs that he couldn’t use. It looks nice. The size is a little big for my son, but that was kind of expected. I was hoping we would get lucky and that wouldn’t be the case but I couldn’t find any suites in a smaller size that would arrive on time. He is 5’7, 120-125 pounds. It was mostly in the shoulders that it looks big. He is thin. The arm length fit him but he does have long arms. The pants fit with a little looseness. His jeans size at American eagle is 28/36, but he can fit slightly bigger with a belt. The pants were good but the vest and jacket were a little big. They’re just slightly long and jacket is big in the shoulders. We got a size small.

QUALITY AND COMPORTABLE FITTING IN LOWER PRICE...
Color: Navy, Size: Large
WOW! this suit really true to its sizes description... I ordered in a different company before this, but I have to return it TWICE because of wrong size fittings... Finally, this beautifully tailored suit timely arrived before my son's wedding reception, and we are ready to celebrate!!! Thank you and might order some different colors in the future... I wonder if they can make the pants in higher waist and straight cut or wider for the legs in the future as an option... Just a thought since slim fit pants are slowly outdating...
