Feast your eyes on this Gibson Custom Shop 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue BOTB Page 122 Reissue. Many guitar players know how coveted vintage '59 Les Paul's are. With somewhere between 640-650 original models made and available ones pushing half a million dollars, the fabled Les Paul's aren't exactly easy to come by. Crafted by our good friends at Gibson Custom Shop, we have this Les Paul Standard modeled after page 122 in Yasuhiko Iwanade's "Beauty of the Burst" book to scratch that itch.

In the book, Iwanade describes this example as "mint condition cherry sunburst '59." Iwanade also made note of the back of the headstock being painted black as a common way to hide imperfections in the wood or mask a repair. Don't worry, this headstock is perfectly fine and is there for cosmetics. We're big fans of the stinger here.

The solid-body receives it's iconic single-cutaway design from a mahogany body and is capped with a maple top. Paired together for decades, this combinations offers a warmth and low-end chunk while the maple cap adds snap and clarity. The top pops against the cherry sunburst with its single layer of binding and other cream colored plastics and gold knobs.

A double-bound mahogany neck attaches to the body in a traditional Gibson set-neck design and is glued in using historically accurate hide glue. The neck profile on this standard is a '59 medium C shape that is a real treat to play. The neck is topped with a 12-inch radius rosewood fingerboard and features 22 frets and cellulose trapezoid inlays. The headstock displays the Gibson logo in mother of pearl.

For its sonic capabilities, 2 Gibson Custombuckers are at the players service. These pickups provide vintage-inspired unpotted P.A.F tone by employing Alnico 3 magnets for a warm and sweet tone using 42 AWG wire and unbalanced coils. Tone is further adjusted with the 3-way pickup selector and 2 volume/tone controls.

The entire instrument has received light ageing thanks to Tom Murphy and his team at the Murphy Lab. Designed to simulate decades of honest wear, you'll find extra rolled fingerboard edges, finish checking, cloudy hardware, and small nicks/dings - as if the guitar spend most of its life inside the case with minimal use outside the house. The result offers an authentic played-in feel.

Packaged in a brown Lifton hardshell case with pink interior, this page 122 BOTB is a faithful recreation of a classic while still offering something brand new.

Body wash
A clean, elevated body wash set that gives you two standout scents—Italian Bergamot (fresh, citrusy, clean) and Palo Santo (warm, smoky, masculine). The formula creates a rich lather that cleans without drying your skin, and the layered fragrance makes it feel more high-end than typical body washes. ✔ Two premium scents (fresh + warm options) ✔ Rich lather, non-drying formula ✔ Long-lasting, layered fragrance ❗ Scent is more subtle than cologne ❗ Slightly pricier than basic body wash 👉 Bottom line: A great everyday upgrade perfect if you want a clean, fresh scent or a deeper, more masculine vibe depending on your mood.

"Do this like like this person did
Format: Paperback
I bought this last year at Bethlehem Seminary bookstore in Minneapolis on a bibliophile impulse. It was so remarkable, that I bought multiple copies here on Amazon to give to leaders and fellow-teachers of our children's outreach program at church. For instead of the typical way of teaching bible stories to children, it proposes a different way, one wrapped around the gospel of grace. Most of the time, children are taught the stories of David and Goliath, or Gideon, or whatever, to urge them on to moral behavior. "Do this like like this person did, don't do that like that other person did, and God will bless you". And so kids grow up in the church thinking that this is what the gospel is: do good and you'll gain God's favor. This book instead shows how God has always provided a solution for the wretched consequences of the fall. The writer doesn't recommend we automatically shy away from teaching the difficult stories of the bible, which is so common in children's ministries (like the captivity in Babylon, and the wretched stories in Judges, for instance). Instead, it shows teachers how to teach (AND see for themselves) the mercy of God in each of those bible accounts. It is not a curriculum, though it is very bible literate: for instance, Mr. Klumpenhower points out the not-always-so-obvious parts of a story that point to a coming redeemer. It has practical insights for showing the beauty of God's love and mercy in EVERY bible story, and for those who need further direction and insight, Mr. Klumpenower's website gives curricular-type lesson plans you can use when teaching those stories. In our church now, we continue to use a national bible-memory program that many churches use. But we use this as the outline for our group teaching times. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to teach the gospel from the scriptures, instead of just from a formula.
