Yangarra Old Vine Grenache 2024 is a benchmark expression from McLaren Vale, crafted from certified organic and biodynamic bush vines planted in the 1940s. Sourced from the estate’s single vineyard, the wine reflects Yangarra’s focus on Rhône varietals and a commitment to minimal intervention winemaking. The sandy soils over ironstone and the warm Mediterranean climate of McLaren Vale allow Grenache to ripen fully while retaining freshness, resulting in wines of purity, balance, and site expression.
The 2024 vintage delivered excellent growing conditions, with even ripening and strong flavour development balanced by natural acidity. Hand-picked fruit is fermented with a portion of whole bunches to enhance structure and aromatic lift, followed by maturation in older oak and large-format vessels to preserve fruit clarity. The result is a refined and expressive Grenache, combining vibrant red fruit with savoury complexity and fine tannin structure, offering both immediate appeal and the ability to evolve with time.
