The Skywatch series are the most convenient wind gauges in JDC's Skywatch Anemometer Series. The wind gauge can measure winds up to wind force 12 (storm), with an accuracy of 3%. You can set the unit in which you want to read the wind yourself: km/h, mph, fps, knots, and Beaufort. You can also see the average and maximum wind speed, so you can always be sure to choose the right kite size for you. What makes the Skywatch Atmos Anemometer special is that it is waterproof, floats, and the measuring system is direction-independent. This means that you don't have to hold the Atmos wind gauge directly against the wind to get an accurate measurement.
You can also use the Skywatch Atmos wind gauge to measure other things such as temperature, wind chill, and humidity. The Atmos wind gauge runs on two AA batteries and lasts for more than 3 years if the backlight is not used. There is a screw thread on the bottom of the Skywatch Atmos wind gauge that allows you to attach the Atmos wind gauge to a tripod for long-term measurement of wind, temperature, and humidity. This means you always have your own mobile weather station with you!
