The HoverCam Solo 8 Plus Document Camera is a high-resolution video camera, photo camera, microscope, and more for the classroom. You can record hundreds of hours of video in up to 4K resolution at 30 fps, and slow-motion video in 1280 x 720 resolution at 120 fps. Capture 13MP photos and zoom in on objects or documents by up to 480x (6x ASR zoom, 8x interpolated digital zoom, and 10x mechanical zoom). Sound is captured via a built-in mic with integrated noise reduction. The HoverCam Solo 8 Plus connects to your PC over a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 connection, and you can connect the PC to a projector or whiteboard for video output. The USB connection to a PC also provides the Solo with power, so a separate power adapter is not required. Use the HoverCam Flex 10 annotation software for Windows to get creative with any documentation or images you present to the class. The software comes preloaded on the Solo and is accessible on your PC once the Solo and PC are connected.
The Solo 8 Plus features a 13MP, 1/3.2" sensor and 5-element f/2.0 lens. It's capable of auto-focusing, auto-focus locking, and selected region focus. It has a flexible arm that adjusts to let you record/capture from nearly any angle. The arm is equipped with four ultra-bright LEDs that will help bring out the details of anything you put under the camera. The arm also fully folds in to make the Solo 8 Plus compact, portable, and sleek.
Updated versions of the HoverCam Flex software will be available to you as free downloads as they are released, and you can install them into the Solo via the USB 3.0 "Install" port that's right next to the main USB 3.0 port. If you want to use the Solo with a Chromebook, you can install a Chromebook version of the software, called HoverCam for Chrome, available at the Chrome Webstore. Everything you record or capture can be stored directly on your computer.
