The new Ultra Stratos Split is a dynamic and versatile ultralight splitboard built for extending your range and pushing your riding potential in all-conditions. Built with the body of a directional freeride board and the spirit of a freestyle board, the Ultra Stratos has an energetic board feel thanks to a narrow sidecut and a camber heavy directional rocker profile. For added float and quick edge-to-edge response, the Ultra Stratos features 10 mm of taper and a 3D Contour Base 3.0. The Ultra Stratos is built with our ultralight Fusion Carbon construction including a wood core made with two sections of Koroyd that absorb chatter at a fraction of the weight of wood. For added edge grip and unmatched torsional board lock, the Ultra Stratos Split features Inner/Outer Traction Tech 3.0, the Boltless Bridge, Karakoram Tip Lock Tip Clips and Karakoram 3C Clips that clamp together with a three point tension system. The Ultra Stratos Split is designed for expert splitboarders who tour in all snow conditions and whose eyes are drawn to creative lines full of terrain features.

• Fusion Core: The Fusion Core is Jones lightest wood core yet. Core is made from mostly paulownia with specifically positioned pockets of poplar for improved durability and response.
• Fusion Carbon: This cutting edge board lay-up process is the latest evolution of Jones previous Fusion Tech construction and reduces board weight and improves durability by combining board materials in two stages.
• Ultra Construction: Ultra Construction is the redefinition of what it takes to build a snowboard. Jones has tested every inch of the board to precisely position materials exactly where they are needed while eliminating all excess materials. • Triax Fiberglass: Multi-axis, stitched fiberglass laminate that offers a precise and responsive ride in any terrain or snow conditions.
• Fiberglass Reinforcement: Fiberglass layer improve pop in nose and tail plus increases the longevity of the flex profile. This lightweight layer helps the board perform the same on day 100 as it did on day one - precise and playful.
• Ultra Base: Jones exclusive base material that sets new performance standards. Lab results and snow testing show 25% better wax absorption, better glide in warm/wet snow and better durability for grinding. They have also doubled the amount of wax and mixed multiple wax types for a faster factory wax in a wider range of conditions.
• Textured Eco-Plastic Topsheet: Bio-plastic topsheet made from Castor beans featuring a subtle texture for added durability. This eco-material is ultralight, chip/scratch resistant and water/snow repellent (snow sticks less to topsheet).
• Karakoram Ultra Clips 3C with Tip-Lock:  Karakoram Ultra Clips 3C feature a three point tension system. Ultralight and exclusive to Jones, these clips redefine split clip technology. They are also adjustable so you can maintain even compression as your splitboard ages.
• Oversized recycled edges: Oversized recycled steel edges for added durability and
  improved production sustainability.
• Koroyd® Core: Award-winning synthetic core material developed for the aerospace industry. Koroyd is the lightest and dampest core material Jones have ever tested. Koroyd absorbs vibrations and adds response at a fraction of the weight of wood which enhances board control and riding confidence.
• Recycled Rounded ABS Sidewalls: Rounded sidewall finish that improves board durability by protecting topsheet from chipping.
• Wend Natural Wax: Jones boards are ready to shred straight out of the shop
  and are factory waxed with WEND natural wax.
• Factory Tuned: All Jones Snowboards are factory de-tuned at the tip and tail so you can go right from the shop to the mountain.
• Forever Flex: Forever Flex is a manufacturing process that helps stabilize the flex and rocker profile of a board for it’s lifetime. Our boards now finish the first stages of production slightly overbuilt and then we “break them in” using specialized machinery that mimics extreme riding use. By flexing the fresh board fibers and epoxy at the factory the materials settle in to their final arrangement within the board layup much the same as if you rode the board for 20 days. This process helps us narrow our production tolerances so the board you buy has a more accurate specified flex and rocker profile that will change less as you ride it more.

Profile: Directional Rocker

A hybrid rocker/camber flex pattern defined by more tip rocker than tail
rocker and camber between the bindings. The rockered tips floats the
board’s nose and improves maneuverability while the camber underfoot
provides edge hold and response. A slightly rockered tail maintains the
power and stability of a traditional board but helps keep the tail catch-free
initiating turns and landing switch.

Directional tapered boards excel in a pure mountain environment. The tail sinks in pow for better float and quicker turns.

A directional shape with a longer, softer nose and a shorter, stiffer tail get taken to the next level with a tapering design—which sees a wider nose tapering into a narrower tail. The advantages are two-fold: this shape not only sees mega-enhanced floatation with a surfy feel in deep powder, it also creates a faster turning snowboard which is noticeably more nimble and great for tree riding.
