The Tripp Lite by Eaton Hardened Gigabit Fiber to Ethernet Media Converter is a rugged, high-performance solution designed to extend your copper Ethernet networks over fiber with reliability in challenging environments. Built for industrial and outdoor deployments, this media converter enables seamless interoperability between RJ45 copper Ethernet devices and fiber links, delivering true Gigabit performance where it matters most. Whether you’re linking a remote sensor, a distribution closet, or a data center edge, this hardened converter provides a flexible, future-proof pathway for fiber-to-Ethernet integration that stands up to dust, vibration, and demanding temperatures.

  • Rugged industrial design with wide temperature tolerance: Engineered for harsh environments, the converter operates reliably across a broad temperature range (-10°C to 60°C) and is built to resist dust and environmental stressors. This makes it a dependable choice for factory floors, outdoor cabinets, and field installations where ambient conditions can be unpredictable.
  • Copper to fiber extension at Gigabit speeds: Convert a copper Gigabit Ethernet signal (RJ45) to fiber and extend connectivity to a second network device. This enables remote networking while preserving full 1 Gbps performance, ensuring smooth video, data, and voice traffic across longer distances than standard copper cabling allows.
  • Customizable SFP port supports single-mode and multimode fiber: The flexible SFP slot accepts a variety of transceivers, allowing you to tailor the link to your fiber type, reach, and fiber infrastructure. Whether your installation uses single-mode for long-haul runs or multimode for shorter, high-density deployments, this media converter adapts to your needs.
  • Plug-and-play capability with straightforward integration: Designed to slot into existing networks with minimal configuration, it supports auto-negotiation and standard Ethernet behavior to simplify deployment. Install, connect, and begin extending your network over fiber without complex setup or specialized tools.
  • Compliance, reliability, and broad compatibility: This TAA-compliant solution is suitable for government and enterprise procurement, delivering trusted performance and compatibility within the Tripp Lite/Eaton ecosystem. Its hardened build and flexible SFP options help ensure long-term investment protection in mixed network environments.

How to install Tripp Lite by Eaton Hardened Gigabit Fiber to Ethernet Media Converter

  • Power down any devices connected to the media converter and ensure you have a compatible SFP transceiver module for your fiber type (single-mode or multimode).
  • Insert the appropriate SFP transceiver into the SFP slot according to your fiber plan, then connect the fiber optic cable to the transceiver, ensuring proper connector type and polarity.
  • Connect an Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port on the media converter and attach the other end to your copper network device (switch, router, or NIC) at the source side.
  • Provide power to the unit and power on both ends of the link. If auto-negotiation is supported by your devices, the converter will automatically negotiate speed and duplex settings for optimal performance.
  • Test the link by verifying link status LEDs and performing a quick data test to confirm that traffic traverses the fiber link at up to 1 Gbps without errors.

Cover too loose.
Size: 300A Fuse Holder
Nice looking, decent quality, versatile for different gauges. My only complaint with this holder is the cover doesn’t stay on very well, bought 3, and all 3 pop off easily, you will need to zip tie on.

Great quality! Sounds great and we’ll built!
I’ve owned a couple of these larger Bluetooth “party” speakers and this is by far the best sounding and well built one I’ve owned. The last one I bought was made by Ion and was much larger, but I think this one sounds WAY better and just looks and feels like quality. The Ion just felt cheap and it died just after the warranty period (of course) It wouldn’t power up anymore even when plugged into a wall outlet. The light show is killer in this if you’re out by the pool at night. I almost forgot to mention, this thing is very lightweight, so easy to carry around. It’s a winner.

Highs Muddled (XL)
As much as I wanted to love the new Klipsch party speakers, there are better options. I purchased this with the JBL Encore Essential (which you can pick up for fifty bucks less right now), and the JBL won, hands down. Even the heft and finishes of the JBL are superior. Both speakers are approximately equally loud. However, the JBL had boomier and punchier bass, with twice the number of boost options (2 vs 1) as the Klipsch. But the Klipsch really struggled with the highs with its one teeter - the smaller, doubled tweeters of the JBL are immensely cleaner and clearer. Long story short, as much as I wanted this speaker to be awesome, Klipsch leaves a lot to be desired here compared to JBL.
