Background
NCR1 (Natural Cytotoxicity Triggering Receptor 1, also known as CD335 or NKp46) is a pivotal activating receptor primarily expressed on the surface of natural killer (NK) cells and belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. Acting as a central regulator of NK cell function, it recognizes specific ligands (such as hemagglutinins) expressed on virus-infected cells or tumor cells. This recognition delivers a potent activation signal, triggering the cytotoxic response of NK cells and the release of cytokines (like IFN-γ). It plays an indispensable role as a "first line of defense" in the body's innate immune response against viruses and tumors. Dysregulation of its function is closely associated with the pathogenesis and development of various infectious diseases, cancers, and autoimmune disorders.
