All individuals working in areas that could be exposed to asbestos are required to take asbestos awareness training according the Work Health and Safety Act 2011. To fulfill these requirements, builders, plumbers and cablers who have worked in the ACT for a long time must take the 11084NAT Course In Asbestos Awareness Training.

The ACT approved 11084NAT Course In Asbestos Awareness is currently the most current training course. It replaces the 10314NAT standard for learning about asbestos identification.

What training is required for asbestos awareness?

Individuals must take the 11084NAT Course on Asbestos Awareness in order to meet the ACT training requirements. It is the responsibility of any person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) to ensure that their workers have received this training from an approved provider.

If you have reason to believe that your workers may be exposed to asbestos-containing material (ACM), it is important that you arrange training with a certified training company. It is also important to keep track of who was trained and when it was completed. The ACT is required for anyone entering a construction site, just as the white card in most Australian states. The 11084NAT Course on Asbestos Awareness does not require any prerequisites. Only one requirement is that students can read, understand and speak English. An accredited translator may be hired if the individual is unable to read or write English. The training organization may not provide translators.

What is the training?

Online asbestos awareness training courses are not possible. For the 11084NAT Course on Asbestos Awareness, face-to-face delivery will be required. A qualified training organization must also deliver these asbestos awareness training courses.

Courses are usually completed in no more than four hours. The length of the course will vary depending on the company offering it and how many students are taking it.

Why is it important to take an asbestos awareness course?

Specified workers in Canberra and ACT must complete the 11084NAT Course on Asbestos Awareness. Workers must complete the 11084NAT Asbestos Awareness Training Course before they can work on construction sites. Asbestosis is a condition that can be caused by asbestos exposure. This condition can cause shortness of breath, permanent lung damage, and even death. This condition can increase your risk of developing lung cancer. Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 requires that instruction, training and information be provided to identify asbestos. The approved training course for meeting these requirements is currently the 11084NAT Course In Asbestos Awareness.

Your previous asbestos training will not be accepted if it was completed before January 2008. Training must have taken place between January 2008 and June 2014. It must be offered by an accredited training organization. Training in the 11084NAT Course on Asbestos Awareness is required if the training course does not meet these requirements.

The training course's purpose is to reduce the safety and health risks of asbestos exposure. The Minister's declarations of occupations contains a list of occupations in which workers could reasonably be exposed. Anyone who works in an occupation that is listed in the Minister’s declaration of occupations must complete the training. Asbestos awareness training is required for all workers, including plumbers and builders, bricklayers, stonemasons and architects.

The cost of the 11084NAT Course In Asbestos Awareness Training Course can vary depending on where it is offered. The average price of this course in Canberra, Sydney, and Melbourne is $227. You can expect to pay between $220-250 in Brisbane. It is not required, but it is popular in Canberra. However, many people who work in Canberra construction will need to be trained.

The 11084NAT Course In Asbestos Awareness aims to teach workers how to identify asbestos. This course does not address the removal or encapsulation.

Which Accreditation will You Receive?

An assessment is performed after you have completed the 11084NAT Course on Asbestos Awareness. This will determine whether or not you fully understood the material. You will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement Of Attainment if you pass the assessment.

Before entering any building site, asbestos awareness training is mandatory. Employers must ensure that their workers have access to this training. The current approved course in asbestos awareness is the 11084NAT Course. These courses cannot be taken online but are available through qualified training organisations.
