5g Psyllium, 5g Glutamine, 40B CFU Gut Support

Fiber G by My Source Nutrition Co. isn't just extra fiber. It's a full-on digestive helper that boosts stool quality, balances gut bugs, curbs appetite, and strengthens your gut lining—all in one scoop. The plan is smart: start with a solid bulk fiber base, add prebiotics and probiotics for gut health, then throw in a full 5g of L-glutamine for the gut wall. That makes it way better than basic psyllium stuff.

The main player is Psyllium Husk Powder at 5,000mg. Psyllium is a soluble fiber that soaks up water, makes stool bigger, and keeps things moving normal—even if your diet's low on fiber or all over the place. In real life, this is what makes you feel more complete, easier, and regular right away. Five grams is a good dose for daily help, right where you start feeling it.

Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) at 1,000mg bring in prebiotic action. FOS goes through your small gut untouched and gets fermented in the colon by good bacteria like Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli. That creates short-chain fatty acids like butyrate, acetate, and propionate, which keep your colon healthy and strong. Studies use 5-15g usually, so 1g is light for standalone, but it fits here teaming up with the 40 billion CFU probiotic.

Fibersol®-2 at 500mg adds resistant maltodextrin, a low-thickness soluble fiber that helps with digestion ease and more fermentable fiber. The brand name counts because Fibersol®-2 is a trusted standard with big cred in gut health. At 500mg it's not huge compared to some doses when Fibersol is t

Key Highlights

  • 5,000mg Psyllium Husk Powder — the main driver for regularity. It soaks up water and creates a gel that bulks stool and speeds transit, making it a go-to for gut health.
  • 5,000mg L-Glutamine — a real dose, not just for show. This hits the start of the 5-15g effective range and helps the cells in your gut lining, taking this beyond basic fiber mixes.
  • 40 Billion CFU Lactic Acid Bacteria — a solid probiotic punch. You get better bug balance and tougher digestion, though listing exact strains would make it even clearer.
  • 1,000mg FOS — a solid prebiotic that feeds good bugs like Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli. 1g is under the 5-15g solo range, but it works great here fueling the probiotics.
  • Fibersol®-2 included — a branded resistant maltodextrin from ADM/Matsutani. This brings another soluble fiber with real gut health rep and mixes things up beyond single-fiber basics.
  • Multiple fiber types in one scoop — psyllium, FOS, Fibersol®-2, apple pectin, and oat fiber. Different fibers do different jobs: some add bulk, some ferment, some thicken, and some help you feel full.
  • Apple Pectin at 300mg — a classic soluble fiber that gels up. It boosts fullness and stool feel while widening the fiber mix.
  • Oat Fiber at 100mg — a small add for variety. Not a big dose alone, but it helps make this a fuller fiber blend instead of leaning on one thing.

Who Is This For?

  • High-protein gym folks bulking who eat big and find digestion holding 'em back. 5g psyllium, 5g glutamine, and 40 billion CFU probiotics help with steady trips, comfort, and handling food volume that causes backups and bloat.
  • Busy types wanting hunger control and smooth digestion without stim fat burners or harsh lax. Psyllium, pectin, and Fibersol®-2 make a filling gel that satisfies meals and steadies bathroom time.
  • Folks jumping from low-fiber eats who need more than plain psyllium. This layers bulk fiber, prebiotics, probiotics, and glutamine for mechanical and bug-side gut help.
  • Athletes traveling with messed-up eats, dehydration, and wonky digestion. Psyllium normalizes stool, glutamine supports lining—key when routine's off.
  • People bouncing back from gut neglect after takeout binges, diets, or skimping veggies. Fiber G rebuilds with more fiber, FOS for bugs, and 5g glutamine for lining.
  • Health fans improving trips and gut while keeping vegan, gluten free, dairy free, sugar free. It fits without being a lame single-fiber scoop.

How to Use

Mix 1 scoop with 10-16 ounces of water and drink it quick after stirring. Psyllium thickens fast, so don't let it sit or it gets heavy. New to fiber? Start with 1/2 scoop for 3-5 days, then bump up to ease into psyllium, FOS, and probiotics without much gas. For hunger curb, take 20 minutes before meals so fibers gel and fill you. For regularity, same time daily, morning or night—consistency counts. Space from meds by 2 hours since fibers can tweak absorption. Stacks good with enzymes for eats or magnesium at night for wider help, but don't pile aggressive fibers till you know your limit. No need to cycle; it's for daily use with good water intake. Keep it sealed cool and dry to protect probiotics and flow.

What to Expect

Right after mixing, you notice the texture: it's fiber, so it thickens if you wait. In the first day or two, lots feel fuller and a better flow thanks to 5g psyllium doing its thing. First week, FOS and 40 billion CFU probiotics might amp gut action as things settle, especially if your fiber's been low. Sensitive folks could get temp gas or bloat, so half-scoop start helps. By weeks 2-4, you see the big picture: reliable trips, less heavy feels, better big-meal handling, and steadier gut. Glutamine helps it feel like real recovery, not just quick relief.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Fiber G different from a basic psyllium fiber powder?

Basic psyllium products mainly address stool bulk and regularity. Fiber G goes further by combining 5,000mg psyllium with 1,000mg FOS, Fibersol®-2, apple pectin, oat fiber, 5,000mg L-glutamine, and 40 billion CFU of lactic acid bacteria, so it supports both the mechanical side of digestion and the microbiome/gut-lining side.

How much glutamine is in Fiber G, and is that a real dose?

Fiber G provides 5,000mg of L-glutamine per scoop. That is the low end of the clinically relevant 5-15g range for gut-support applications, making it a meaningful inclusion rather than a token amount.

Is 1,000mg of FOS enough to do anything?

As a stand-alone prebiotic, FOS is most often studied in the 5-15g range, so 1g is below that clinical range. In this formula, it still has value because it works alongside the 40 billion CFU probiotic inclusion and the broader fiber matrix rather than carrying the entire prebiotic job alone.

When should I take Fiber G?

For appetite support, take it about 20 minutes before a meal. For regularity, the best approach is taking it at the same time every day with plenty of water, because consistency matters more than exact timing.

Can Fiber G cause bloating at first?

It can, especially if your current fiber intake is low or you are sensitive to fermentable fibers like FOS. The combination of psyllium, prebiotics, and 40 billion CFU probiotics can increase digestive activity during the adjustment phase, which is why starting with a half scoop is often smart.

Does Fiber G contain stimulants or caffeine?

No. Fiber G is completely stim-free, so you do not need to worry about caffeine, sleep disruption, or stacking conflicts with pre-workouts on that front.

Is Fiber G vegan and allergy-conscious?

Yes. The product is labeled 100% vegan, gluten free, dairy free, and sugar free. As always, users with specific sensitivities to ingredients like oats, cinnamon, apple-derived ingredients, or flavoring agents should still review the full label.

Why is Fibersol®-2 included if the dose is only 500mg?

Fibersol®-2 adds a branded resistant maltodextrin to diversify the soluble fiber profile and improve the formula’s digestive architecture. At 500mg it is not the centerpiece, but it complements psyllium, FOS, and pectin rather than trying to replace them.

Do I need to cycle Fiber G?

No. This is a daily-use digestive support supplement, and the benefits are more about consistency over time than acute cycling. Regular use is what helps improve bowel pattern stability and support the gut environment.

Should I take Fiber G with medications?

It is better to separate it from medications by about 2 hours. Psyllium and other fibers can influence the rate of absorption of certain compounds, so spacing them out is the more careful approach.

Somewhat niche but a treasure-trove nonetheless!
Format: Paperback
A somewhat niche topic but a small treasure-trove of a book nonetheless! Definitely something I would recommend to anyone thinking seriously about and planning on studying mission. More than just a descriptive history book, the various essays focus on what can be drawn and learned from particular figures and movements. I picked the book because I knew next to nothing about 16th century missions (and not very much about Protestant or Roman Catholic missions in general) and thought it would be good to fill in some of my knowledge gaps. I was not disappointed! There are essays on people I never even heard of before, and now wish I could know so much more! Who knew there was a Czech theologian (Jan Hus) who wrote a devotional for women in the early 1400s? I certainly didn’t. Also, the very first essay I found to be a healthy challenge to Gustav Warnack’s conceptualization of mission (that ...“it must be a systematic work, preferable by an institution outside the church that consistently sends missionaries to previously unevangelized areas.” (p.12)) and his critique of early Reformation missional work (namely that there was none). Plus, while I had heard that Calvin had sent some missionaries to Brazil, I never knew there was so much drama with Villegagnon behind it all! The whole ordeal and everything leading up to it sounds like it would make for pretty crazy reality show or a great movie. The book touches on missions to a variety of locations, Kongo, China, Brazil, Latin America, and Europe itself, and is especially helpful in understanding the origins and philosophies of Reformed, Anabaptist, Jesuit, and Franciscan missiologies. It also gives light to the many complexities of mission work, dealing with politics, economy, culture, competing religion, and language barriers. Not all of the essays are created equal but I definitely got something from each one. Also, as a small disclaimer, the book may be a bit more of a laborious read for some. It deals with a great many events, places, and names that may be unfamiliar to someone not studied in Christian missional work (like myself). But working through such things can yield some ripe fruit. Being a collection of essays around a particular topic, it is a great book to pick up and set down again, not requiring large chunks of time to work through. In fact, it may be better read in several small intervals, one chapter per sitting, to properly digest each essays significance. I received this book for free from Lexham Press in exchange for an honest review, whether negative or positive. The views of this expressed in this review are entirely my own.
