Champagne Boizel La Montagne Blanc de Noirs Premier Cru is een karaktervolle Champagne uit Épernay, volledig gemaakt van Pinot Noir uit de Montagne de Reims. Deze cuvée laat de krachtige, rijpe en verfijnde kant van Pinot Noir in Champagne zien, met druiven uit topdorpen zoals Cumières, Mailly en Chigny-les-Roses. La Montagne verwijst naar de Montagne de Reims, een belangrijk gebied binnen Champagne voor Pinot Noir.

• Ligging / Herkomst: De Pinot Noir komt uit Grands Crus en Premiers Crus in de Montagne de Reims. Deze herkomst staat bekend om Champagnes met structuur, rijp fruit en een volle, gastronomische stijl.

Druivensamenstelling

Champagne Boizel La Montagne Blanc de Noirs Premier Cru wordt volledig gemaakt van Pinot Noir.

• 100% Pinot Noir – Montagne de Reims: Wat is Blanc de Noirs? Blanc de Noirs is witte Champagne gemaakt van blauwe druiven, waarbij de schillen geen kleur aan het sap mogen geven. Pinot Noir zorgt hier voor structuur, rijp fruit, diepte en een zijdezachte textuur.

Vinificatie en rijping

Bij La Montagne draait de vinificatie om het wit houden van het sap en het versterken van de natuurlijke kracht van Pinot Noir.

• Oogst & Selectie: Tijdens de oogst wordt extra zorgvuldig gewerkt, zodat de schillen van de Pinot Noir druiven het sap niet kleuren. Daardoor blijft deze Blanc de Noirs helder wit, ondanks het gebruik van blauwe druiven.

• Reservewijnen: De cuvée bevat 20% reservewijnen. Die geven extra ronding, continuïteit en diepte aan de assemblage.

• Rijping: De Champagne rijpt 3 jaar op de lie. Deze rijping op fijne gistcellen zorgt voor een romigere mousse, meer textuur en subtiele tonen van brioche en gebak.

• Dosage: Met 6 g/l dosage blijft La Montagne droog en fris, terwijl er genoeg ronding aanwezig is om het rijpe Pinot Noir fruit mooi te dragen.

Proefnotities en serveertips

In het glas heeft La Montagne een intens heldergouden kleur met lichte amberreflecties en fijne, romige bubbels. De geur is rijk en warm, met rijpe peer, rood fruit, abrikoos en brioche. De smaak is vol en verrassend fris, met een zijdezachte textuur, tonen van fruit, gebak en honing en een fruitgedreven finale.

• Serveertemperatuur: Serveer deze Blanc de Noirs op 8–10 °C, zodat de fijne mousse, het rijpe fruit en de frisse finale mooi in balans blijven.

A very comfy, pleasant casual sports watch- especially good for training

The Ironman series of watches has been around for about 40 years now, and with good reason. The current iteration doesn't disappoint. It's light weight, easy-to-read, has a good backlight, offers simple operation, great buttons, a decently loud chime, and is a feature rich watch. I purchased this one on a lark; it was sold as "used- very good" from an Amazon warehouse for $20. The Timex packaging/ box was damaged, but the watch itself was new, wrapped and seemed unused. Since I do not wear an item's packaging, I always look for such items when shopping on Amazon, as it can save quite a bit. In this case it was $12 less expensive, or about 1/3 less costly. I have owned a digital watch for over 40 years; from left to right in the photo- my 1980 Seiko (owned since new), my daily Casio, which has solar and atomic clock radio signal time setting, and the Ironman for you to compare size. Owning a number of Casio digital watches, I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort and ease of use of this Timex Ironman. The Ironman does feel somewhat more "plasticky" that some Casio watches I have, which may influence some buyers. But once you get past that feel, if you like the look of the watch, it's a great offering, especially at a $20 price point. The on the Ironman, a chronograph, a countdown timer, a second time zone, three alarms, 30 lap records, occasion reminders , and a perpetual calendar make it comparable, or better than many of the similarly priced Casio offerings. The Ironman does not feel quite as substantial as some of the lower cost G-Shock offerings I have tried, but is at least as comfy on my 7 1/2 inch wrist. Water resistance seems fine at 100 meters, and the recessed plastic crystal should avoid most scratches. The features should be very useful for those who do not want to wear a smartwatch for training. I hope this review has been helpful.

Almost the perfect watch

I have owned three earlier models of these things going back to the days when I actually ran road races. They are brilliant pieces of work. My only complaint of them was that the start/stop/split button(s)--there were two on the older models--were too small. Well, apparently Timex listens and the two small buttons are now combined into one larger one. Probably this was done years ago but I'm only now getting back into road work, so now I get to discover it. The perfect watch? Almost. I especially like this model as my eyes are not what they used to be and the oversized face makes it easier to read. The downside to this is that it also makes the crystal easier to scratch. That's always been an issue, but I can live with it. No, the real problem with this product is, was, and apparently ever shall be, the band. Now, it could be worse, it could be a resin band (like the old ones) that will crack and break within a couple of years, but no, this is a nylon and velcro wrap style which should be just dandy, but for three glitches: 1. it's too short 2. it's too narrow (gee whiz, Timex designers, it's an oversized watch, why not a matching oversized band?) and 3. it's still resin where it attaches to the actual watch. Now, I imagine it's probably less prone to breakage in how it's implemented, but if you should choose to replace it, I can see no obvious way of removing it short of cutting it off. Really? But these are minor complaints. I doubt it would be comfortable on anyone whose wrists are much bigger than my own, but replacement bands are everywhere, and this watch will keep time with style and it's brilliant at splits. Heck, it even functions admirably as a backup for my expensive stopwatches at our regular short track stock car events. For my money (and did I mention the price is wonderful?) the Ironman is still the best at what it does, and for what it can do.

This is 5 stars because it is my favorite work/hard-use watch. I have been wearing one for years, and like all Timex watches, it can take a beating. I have to replace it when the band's ears get so damaged that they won't hold the band on. This has more to do with the plastic's lifespan than with a design issue. I am hard on watches. This watch normally lasts ne 7-10 years between replacements.

Typical Ironman quality

This is my fourth Timex Ironman watch. I own many watches, and prefer the Ironman for casual wear and sporting activities as well as swimming and snorkeling. I decided to replace an earlier model with this one rather than pay to change the battery. The Ironman has changed very little over the years since its introduction in the '80s, with the exception of cosmetic improvememnts and a larger display. I selected the "oversize" model as I was looking for a little more heft to this model. This watch fits the bill, not as chunky as my G-Shock. A pleasant surprise was the weight of the watch. This model is lightweight, another advantage over the G. It's larger than the typical Ironman model, but about the same weight. The band lacks the stiffness of some other Timex and Casio models, and is quite comfortable. Typical Ironman functions are unchanged, and the ability to "hide" various functions makes operation of the watch more efficient. There are three time zones, useful when traveling, as well as the usual chronograph/timer and alarm functions. I haven't worn the watch in the pool or ocean yet, but if experience is any guide, I expect no problems. I've never had an Ironman leak, whether during water sports or snorkeling. These are great watches for the money. I prefer 200 meter water resistance for this type of watch, but Timex has yet to build an Ironman 200m that doesn't overwhelm my wrist in weight and size. I'm not a big guy, and they are simply too large for my wrist. Looking forward to years of service with this watch. Definitely a good timepiece for the price.
