Owned by the Bernard family since 1983, the magnificent Domaine de Chevalier is one of the most prestigious Classified Growths in Bordeaux. The estate is located in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, in a green setting south of Bordeaux.

The vineyard

The Domaine de Chevalier looks after a rare vineyard comprising 45 hectares of red vines. The vineyard rests on a gravelly soil with clay and gravel subsoil.

The vintage :
The 2019 vintage promises to have a very good potential thanks to the exceptional conditions of this year.

Vinification and maturation :
Manual harvest in crates from September 23 to October 13, sorting on the vine and then on a table with optical sorting. Alcoholic fermentation in thermo-regulated vats. Manual punching of the cap. Vatting time of 3 weeks then maturing in barrels for 18 months, including 4 months on lees.

Blending :
Cabernet sauvignon (65%), merlot (30%), petit verdot (5%).

Tasting :
Domaine de Chevalier Rouge 2019 reveals an intense, fresh and refined nose on the fruit. Aromas of black cherries of blackberries and blueberries dominate the bouquet. Dense and delicate on the palate, Domaine de Chevalier Rouge 2019 is characterized by its magnificent concentration of finesse. The ripe fruit flavors are intense and of great gustatory complexity. It is a fresh wine overall with great balance and harmony.
